This little inspiration was written on a sign along the trail today amongst others that I found pleasant. I don’t know who brings up a bunch of rocks that are painted with inspiration or wood planks affixed to water fountains and other points of interests but it is impressive. I wonder what my one line of inspiration would be? I’ll give it some thought over the next few days. What would be yours?
Today’s trek was 17.5 miles with 1,000 vertical feet. This took me just under 6 hours to complete. I am going to leave earlier tomorrow morning because I am getting into the mountain section of the Camino and my vertical feet to climb will be three times what today was so I am anticipating a bit of a grind.
I’ve seen a considerable amount of people doing the Camino on Bikes… certainly more this year than I saw last year. I am wildly jealous because I think I could do the entire Camino in 9 days. But perhaps the bikers don’t get that much reflection time as I do to contemplate big things like what is my one line of inspiration…
When I got to my town today, my travel agency booked me to see a famous church. I am glad I did it as it was beautiful but I am so tired I just did the highlights. It took 24 years to build the Palacio Episcopal de Astorga but only 30 minutes for me to tour it :).
But now I am in my happy place, drinking wonderful wine, writing down some thoughts from today, and I just saw a little kid take a water balloon and smash it on his sister. ‘When life gives you a water balloon, throw it at somebody you love.’ I’ll keep workshopping my line of inspiration.
Love Ryan
