Hill in the Distance

Today I did 16 miles at 2,300 ft of ascent.  When I was leaving the town I saw the hill that I had to climb in the distance which is a rather daunting feeling because it looked so far away and ‘hilly’.  But the night before I enjoyed the best meal I’ve had since I’ve been here so I had premium food in the tank and premium fuel (I helped the restaurant out with their surplus of Oban 14).

I went through a couple of charming towns today and high fived three men of the cloth when they were walking between the church to their office (or visa versa- I couldn’t tell).  I suspect they just got done with their staff meeting with God and are on their way to execute the plan.  I wonder if they are reflecting right now upon the interaction… are they thinking they got a Devine High Five?  Probably not, I am sure lots of people go up to priests and high five them.

Love, Ryan

Mentioned your journey to my neighbor and she knew all about the Camino and filled me in on the history and significance. Sounds amazing. Hike on my friend! Kel
