On my hike today, I passed by an art shop that had the name Arthur on it. I could see what I assumed was Arthur in his back porch FaceTiming with his family. I walked into his shop and his art was majestic. I really wanted to talk with Arthur about his paintings and there specifically was one that I was very impressed in. But I could tell his call was going to take a bit and I didn’t want to disturb him. I harvested the power of AI to get some detail on how I can contact Arthur but he has limited information publicly about him.
His full name is Arthur Manton-Lowe and he is an English artist who walked the Camino years ago and fell in love with the then dilapidated building that he turned into an art studio and residence. I have a bit of regret that I didn’t wait and purchase a piece to have shipped back to me. Well life goes on.
I am in a town named Sarria which holds significance because in order to earn the Compostela (the official certificate of completion) you have to walk at least 100km and Sarria is about 115km out. I anticipate the road from here on to be a bit more crowded due to this fact. I also see a bunch of people that look to be just starting their journey because they are smiling and walking normally…. A dead giveaway.
Today’s hike has been the shortest in all of my hikes… only 11 miles but 1200 vertical feet. My body is doing fine… getting closer to the end of the journey.
Love Ryan
