Camino Snowboarders

Today was a nice farmland hike which is a kind way of saying that I went through a bunch of cow pastures.  I hiked a bit over 14 miles with 2K of ascent and descent.  The trail was very crowded due to the new coming pilgrims from Sarria.  I had a fun time playing the game- new pilgrim or been hiking for a while.  Dead giveaways were if you were hiking with a designer backpack (very odd), had several jackets hanging from your waist, smelled like you’re getting ready for a wedding, or hiked right in the middle of the trail and didn’t move for anyone.  I call these people the snowboarders of the Camino.

I am staying in a town called Portomarín which has incredible similarities to Santorini, Greece.  Most of the buildings are white and each street presents a new hopscotch game of elevation.  It’s really beautiful here and has a nice constant breeze which keeps the temp down.

Love the analogy to snowboarders. Glad you are in a beautiful city and I hope the meal this evening is a banger.
